This is our 4th season of experiencing the beautiful humpback whales who journey to Moorea, and for all 4 seasons, we signed up with Scubapiti. Their local captain and guide knowledge runs deep and wise. They have the utmost respect for the whales by fully honoring their habitat and behavior. We went 4 times this season and each whale encounter was uniquely sacred and majestic. We were welcomed by an Oceanic White Tip on our first tour, and we felt fully safe under Paie’s watchful eye. We really enjoyed Paie, ONeil, Jason, Vete (sorry if my spelling is off and I am missing one Captain!) and you can’t get any better service than Maeva and Celina at the checkin desk. We have already signed up for next year.
On a side note, there was a very disgruntled passenger on our last trip. He was not focused or respectful during the briefing and then he proceeded to jump in the water when told not to. He berated the captain and guide. Never seen anything like his behavior. I told him to change his attitude and be grateful but to no avail. He was let off the boat early, and not surprising, our whale encounters after he was off the boat was one of the best we experienced in our 4 years. So thankful for Vete, Jason, and Maiva for hanging in there.

I had an incredible experience completing my Advanced Open Water certification with Scubapiti in Moorea, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
I did one-to-one training with my instructor, Marama, who was outstanding. He took the time to go back to the basics with me and made sure I felt confident, comfortable, and fully prepared at every step. His patience and attention to detail made a huge difference in my experience.
The dives themselves were unforgettable. We saw oceanic whitetip sharks, large schools of fish, and even dolphins. One of the most exhilarating moments was heading out during a storm to find the best dive sites—intense, exciting, and completely worth it.
What stood out most was the balance of safety, skill, and adventure. I felt supported the entire time while still getting an experience that pushed me in the best way.
If you’re looking for high-quality, personalized dive training in Moorea, I would absolutely recommend Scubapiti—especially if you have the chance to dive with Marama.

One of the best dive shops I’ve been to from booking to completion. Henri and Xavier were fun guys to be on the boat with. Henri was our guide and an amazing guy, calm and collected at all times. He made diving an absolute breeze. We went on 6 dives while here and he always knew the best spots to hit. White tip, black tip and lemon sharks a plenty. Turtles, coral and all the tropical fish you could want to see! Waking up today and not having a dive booked was a sad morning, but we went back and bought shirts to commemorate our time here with the team.
The whale snorkeling tour with Marama and Pai was off the hook! Seeing the calf and mother breach was emotional to say the least. Once we had all experienced it we left the whales to relax. These guys were a bit more ethical than the other boats chasing them down longer than they needed to which we really appreciated. They topped the tour off with a drift snorkel where we saw turtles and spotted eagle rays. I wouldn’t want to have booked anywhere else. We will always remember our time here. Māuruuru roa ❤️

I spent some of my summer diving and whale snorkelling with Scubapiti, and had such an amazing experience. The ocean life was incredible, but what really made it special was the team.
Celine and Henri have done an amazing job of bringing together such a great group of boat captains and guides. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and made every ocean adventure so enjoyable.
A special thank you to Maeve for patiently answering my many questions! I couldn’t recommend Scubapiti more for both whale snorkelling and scuba diving.
Thank you to the whole team, every one of you made my time on the water memorable. Thanks for sharing some very special ocean moments with me. 🩵
Māuruuru,

Above and beyond helpful
I booked a dive with these folks almost 2 months ago for my dive trip of a lifetime ♥️ after two days of diving in Paptee I got on the cruise boat to dive in Moorea ( the most beautiful island) when my wrist began to swell. They canceled my dive and sent me to a wonderful local dr who felt it might be mild skin decompression and recommended not diving for a month 😭
Nice folks going beyond just business 🦈
