The levels

Prefer the French system? Scubapiti teaches ANMP and FFESSM levels, from the first level up to Level 2, with an instructor who takes you from the lagoon to the ocean-side sites. Their international equivalent is the Open Water.

Level 1

From age 12

2 lagoon dives and 2 ocean dives, over 3 days minimum. Diving to 20 metres afterwards.

PE40

From age 16

1 lagoon dive and 2 ocean dives, over 3 days, to dive with a guide down to 40 metres.

Level 2

After Level 1

At least 8 dives.

Level 3 and above

On request

Contact us to discuss it.

Level 1, your first level

Level 1 starts in the lagoon, in calm water: two dives to learn the basic skills with your instructor. The next two are in the ocean, outside the reef, on our fun-dive sites.

Once Level 1, you can dive down to 20 metres in the ocean, with us and elsewhere.

PE40 and Level 2: going further

With the PE40, from age 16 and with a first level, you dive with a guide down to 40 metres: one lagoon dive and two ocean dives, over three days. That is the depth that opens up sites such as Les Roses, at 40 metres.

Level 2 is taken after Level 1, in at least 8 dives. Level 3 and above are on request: write to us to discuss it.

French or international?

Both systems lead to the same first level: Level 1 (ANMP, FFESSM) and Open Water (SDI, PADI or SSI) both let you dive down to 20 metres in the ocean. We teach both. A health questionnaire is required, and a medical certificate over 65.
